Swedish & Therapeutic Massage
The term "massage" is applied to a variety of bodywork techniques. However,
the most common and basic is Swedish Massage. Swedish massage has relaxation
as it's goal. It increases metabolism, hastens healing, relaxes and refreshes
the muscles and improves the detoxifying functions of the lymphatic system.
Therapeutic massage is also effective in pain management. The public has
increasing desire for therapies that are effective, less drug-related in
nature, and that
offer more chances for the client's participation in their own healthcare.
Sports Massage
Sports massage, also called athletic massage, is the application of massage techniques that combine sound anatomical and physiological knowledge, an understanding of strength training and conditioning, and protecting it or healing it from injury. Anyone who routinely places stress on the muscles, tendons and ligaments can benefit from sports massage. The sports massage program at our clinic incorporates a variety of massage and muscle therapy modalities, each one chosen to address specific conditions such as fibrosis, spasms, torn ligaments, and muscle inflammation.
